Jay Coulter brings over 25 years of experience in the investment management industry and consults with the Investment Committee at RichLife Advisors on market conditions and investment strategies. His expertise has played a key role in bringing investment management in-house, enhancing transparency, alignment, and connectivity for clients. As a subject-matter expert, Jay provides valuable insights that support the firm’s commitment to delivering well-structured, resilient investment systems designed to navigate complex market environments.
Jay has held key roles with some of the industry’s leading firms, including Morgan Stanley, Lehman Brothers, Guggenheim, and Charles Schwab. Highlights of his career include launching a $1 billion Outsourced Chief Investment Officer firm, managing a $250 million financial planning and advisory practice at Morgan Stanley, and building a $500 million commodity-focused Exchange Traded Fund that was later sold to WisdomTree.
As the host of The Resilient Advisor™ Podcast—one of the longest-running podcasts in the financial industry—Jay has earned recognition for his practical, educational insights. His work has been featured in top publications like Investment News, ThinkAdvisor, Financial Advisor Magazine, and CityWire. He’s also the author of three books, including The Resilient Advisory Business, The Resilient Advisor, and Conquer Worry, a book on mental health that has sold copies on five continents.

Jay holds an M.B.A. from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and a B.S. in Business Management from The University of Tennessee. He has also earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFP®) and Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) designations.
